Sandra L. Peifer, 78, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Iowa. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Sandy was born on March 20, 1947, in Crystal Falls, Michigan, to the late Henry Ford Roberts and Mercedes Rose (Rochon) Zaupa.
Sandy loved to sew and knit, and she enjoyed playing the piano. She was an avid reader and a prolific cook, always finding joy in creating and learning. She also loved watching the Iowa Hawkeye women’s basketball team and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Tami) Peifer III, Billy Peifer (Sarah Schafer), Jonathan Peifer; grandchildren, Sydney Peifer and Avery Peifer; siblings, Alice (Matt) Borowiec, Kathy Zaupa, Marie (Cully) Paulsen, James (Debbie) Zaupa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Ford Roberts; sister, Patricia Nichols; partner, Wally Miller and fur-baby, Maxi.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Donna & Dennis Oldorf Hospice House or Dogs Forever, in her honor.
