When I heard Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy suggest that perhaps air passengers would behave more appropriately when dressed up, I was struck his assertion that clothing influences behavior. I watched President Donald Trump’s pardoning of the Thanksgiving turkeys and his address at that time filled with insults to political enemies, name-calling, false statements, and threats.
Most of the time, when he exhibits these behaviors, he is wearing a suit and tie. I believe that the country has a right to have a leader who exemplifies civility and dignity, and truth. This is the antithesis of what we have in President Trump.
Disruptive behavior is not limited to those who are casually clothed. We need a leader who is truthful and civil regardless of how he is dressed.
