Robinn Dee Shanahan-Solner, 75, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at her home. A private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Family is planning a Celebration of Life at a later date next year. Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Robinn and the family.
Robinn was born July 5, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Robert Henry and Shirley Maxine (Hipple) Shanahan. She grew up in Cedar Rapids and later completed a dental assistant program, as well as a two-year computer programming degree. Robinn worked for many years as a computer programmer, retiring in 2017.
Robinn was a woman of many talents. She was a skilled seamstress, and had a true green thumb. She loved jigsaw puzzles, mystery books and shows, and had a special affection for cats. Robinn was also a cancer survivor, a testament to her strength and perseverance.
Survivors include her daughter, Kristen (Lawrence) Cheung of Kansas City, MO; her two grandchildren, Patrick and Maya Cheung; and three siblings, as well as two nephews and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her fiancé, Jeffrey Stone.
Memorials may be directed to the family for an established memorial fund.
