Lee W. Beine, age 76, of Tipton, Iowa, died on November 18, 2025, at The Bird House – Hospice Home in Iowa City, Iowa.
Lee was born in Charles City, Iowa, on July 3, 1949, the son of Walter H. Beine and Doris E. Beine. He attended school in Charles City, graduating from Charles City Community High School in 1967. He then attended Iowa State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1971, followed by a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1975.
Following law school, Lee moved to Tipton, Iowa, where he practiced general private law until his retirement in December 2024. In addition to his private practice, he served as Assistant County Attorney from 1975 to 1981, and then as Cedar County Attorney from 1981 to 2006.
Lee enjoyed hunting, fishing, and many other outdoor sports and activities. He was a passionate advocate for conservation and the protection of natural resources and habitats, and he belonged to numerous environmental organizations that supported those values.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter H. Beine; his mother, Doris E. “Dorie” Beine; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a very special and beloved friend, Patricia A. Meixner.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara J. Miller, and her husband, Stephen Miller, of Stockholm, Maine; and by the family of Patricia A. Meixner.
A celebration of Lee’s life will be held at a later date, when family and friends can gather to honor his memory.
