Sheryl Sue Koch, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on November 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born September 6, 1948, Sheryl was the daughter of Harold and Mildred Doermann of Clarence, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry, and is survived by her sisters, Karen and Diane (husband Wayne Betts).

Sheryl grew up in Clarence, Iowa, and graduated from Clarence High School. Soon after, she married her high school sweetheart, Michael Koch. Following Michael’s service in the U.S. Air Force, they settled in

Mechanicsville, Iowa, where they built a life filled with love, laughter, and purpose while raising three boys—Anthony, Christopher, and Joshua.

Everyone who knew Sheryl will always remember her as one of the kindest and most generous people you could ever meet; always ready to lend a hand, offer a listening ear, or share a warm smile. Sheryl gave her time and heart to her community through the Mechanicsville Ambulance Service, the local food pantry, and countless activities at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Family was truly the center of Sheryl’s life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who found her greatest joy in being surrounded by the people she loved most. She is survived by her husband, Michael; her children, Anthony, wife Becky; son Grayson, Christopher, wife Kathy; sons Zachary (fiancée Janine) and Cade, and Joshua, partner Hnin Kay; children Lilly and Ramsey.

Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Croix Hospice and Grand Living of Indian Creek for the kind and compassionate care they provided to her.

Sheryl’s gentle spirit, faith, and the love she poured into others will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
