Ruth Irene Davis, 79, of Iowa City, passed away on November 17, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospital.
Ruth was born on September 29, 1946 in North English, Iowa, to William and Kathryn (Ochs) Davis.
After graduating from Muscatine High School, Ruth started working as a pharmacy technician at the University of Iowa; a career that spanned over 40 years.
Following retirement, Ruth kept herself occupied with various hobbies. She was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting Native American pottery. She was a fan of various art projects and paintings and loved spending time on crossword puzzles (especially the New York Times!)
Ruth is survived by her sister, Evelyn Holladay; brother Edward (Carol) Davis; nieces and nephews: Cale Davis, Janet Hoch, Chris Davis, Valerie Holladay (Shane Nelson) and Andrew Holladay; great-niece, Alana (Briley) Else and great-great-nephews: John “Jack” Else and Charles Else. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Frederick Davis and nephew, Fred Davis.
