Ruth was born on January 7, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Larson) Paul. She was a graduate of Anamosa High School and went on to attend Cosmetology School. On January 23, 1965, Ruth was united in marriage to Donald “Don” Tow Rosdail at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She worked as a hairdresser at several locations throughout her life including Killian’s, Peterson’s, and Aggie O’Shears.
An avid gardener, Ruth found immense pleasure in tending to her flower beds. The vibrant blooms not only reflected her personality—full of color and life—but also served as a testament to her nurturing spirit. Her hands, often busy in the soil, brought forth beauty that all who visited her home could appreciate. Ruth’s dedication extended well beyond her home and garden. She was a proud member of several community organizations, each allowing her to further engage with those around her. As a member of the Stephen Ministry associated with St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she was a lifelong member, she provided support and comfort to many in need, embodying the principles of compassion and service. Her involvement with the Country Friends Dance Club offered her joy and connection through music and movement, while her commitment to the Topps Weight Loss Club showcased her determination to lead a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, as a member of the Whitter Iowa Garden Club, she fostered friendships and shared her love of gardening with fellow enthusiasts.
Ruth’s life was characterized by her unwavering commitment to those she loved. She especially cherished spending time with her family, creating bonds and memories that will be held dear for generations to come. Her warm spirit and caring nature were evident in all of her interactions, and her family will forever remember the joy she brought into their lives. Ruth will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
