CRCSD bond would have driven up elderly homeowners’ taxes

Thank you to the voters of Cedar Rapids for defeating the CRCSD's most recent plea for yet more taxpayer money. Now my wife and I ought to be able to afford to maintain and live in our home for at least a couple more years. Perhaps the district’s next funding proposal could include a provision for constructing shelters within the school buildings for elderly homeowners who will be driven from their homes due to their inability to sacrifice their heating and food dollars for the increased property tax dollars.
