Ila Mae Greer, 95, passed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Hallmark Care Center, Mount Vernon, Iowa. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Bunny Dillard. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, Toddville, Iowa.
Survivors include son, Richard (Nancy) Greer; daughters, Linda (Charles) Curson, Sheryl Giglia, and Rhonda (Daniel) Polk; eight grandchildren, Chad, Ben, Matt, Deborah, Steven, Jessica, Tonya, and Dylan; and 12 great grandchildren.
Ila Mae was born on November 5, 1930, in Snover, Michigan, the daughter of Louis and Beatrice (Waun) Mann. She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1949, and on July 21, 1950, she married Raymond Greer in Snover, Michigan. Ila Mae was a lifelong United Methodist where she led youth group, Sunday School, and Bible study, and sang in the choir. She loved being a teacher and sharing her love for God and the church.
Ila Mae will be remembered for the beautiful poetry she often shared in greeting cards and special messages. Ila Mae kept her mind sharp as an avid reader and playing board and card games with Uno and Scrabble being her favorite. Above all her family was most important to her and she enjoyed time together with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Harold, Dale, and Larry; stepbrother, Lyle Andrews; and son-in-law, Vince Giglia.
Memorials are suggested to Heifer International in memory of Ila Mae.
