William “Bill” Packingham, 71, of Palo, died at his home on Monday, November 10, 2025. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Teahen Funeral Home and Cremation Service is caring for Bill and his family.
Bill was born on December 29, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Delmar and Beverly (Balden) Packingham. He grew up in the Cedar Rapids area and attended Taft through the eighth grade. Bill was united in marriage to Beverly in May of 1993 in Palo.
Bill worked for many years as a sandblaster with ADM Rail Car, dedicating much of his life to hard work and craftsmanship. Outside of work, Bill was an avid outdoorsman—he loved fishing, trapping, and hunting. He could often be found enjoying a cold one in a warm garage with friends, listening to country music, or spending time on his boat. Above all, Bill dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Palo; his children, Crystal (Robert) Henderson of Covington and Chad (Emily) Packingham of Palo; his stepchildren, Bradley (Charidy) Stafford of Nebraska, Tonya Stafford of Georgia, and Kathryn (John) Zuniga of Texas; six grandchildren, William, Joseph, Jonathan, Heaven, Scott, and Leighanna; and five step-grandchildren, Shane Thomas, Vivian, Cole and Jessica; along with many other family members and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Packingham.
Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences can be left at www.teahenfuneralhome.com.
