Allan Ray Berry, 83, of Alburnett, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, surrounded by family at home. In agreement with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life is being planned for a later date.
Allan was born on March 29, 1942, in Alburnett, one of five children to Guy Milton and Claudia Marie (McAtee) Berry. He was a 1960 graduate of Alburnett High School and went on to attend Iowa State University. Allan enlisted in the Iowa National Guard. On July 24, 1981, Allan was united in marriage to Annette Helen Marie (Peterson) Fulmer at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. For many years, he worked for Rockwell Collins and retired as an Order Administration Manager in 1997. Allan enjoyed a variety of pastimes throughout his life, including bowling, drag racing, and golfing. He was an avid sports enthusiast and a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs, rarely missing a chance to cheer on his favorite teams. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and took great joy in attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, proudly supporting them from the sidelines. Allan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Allan is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Annette Berry of Alburnett; six children, Krista (Tim) Troyna of Marion, Iowa, Matthew (Peggy) Fulmer of Center Point, Iowa, Rena Fulmer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mark (Jody) Fulmer of Alburnett, Ward (Dawn) Fulmer of Cedar Rapids, and Lynn (Avery) Reed of Alburnett; sister, June Smith of Marion; and a host of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings, James Berry, Robert Berry, and Darlene Ferguson.
