CEDAR RAPIDS — Co-founder Courtney Ball has been tapped to serve as the next executive director for Matthew 25, a Cedar Rapids nonprofit dedicated to community engagement and neighborhood development.
The nonprofit’s board of directors announced Ball’s promotion in a Tuesday news release following a multi-month search to replace former director Clint Twedt-Ball, Matthew 25 co-founder and brother to Courtney Ball.
“Courtney rose to the top of over 70 candidates that applied for the position from across the country,” board president Ryan Anderson said in the release. “Board members are confident and unanimous about his dependable leadership abilities and are excited to support him as he continues to lead Matthew 25 into the future.”
Ball has served as interim executive director since Twedt-Ball’s July departure. Prior to that, he served as the organization’s community building director and overall community champion for the nonprofit’s various services and programs.
The Ball brothers founded Matthew 25 in 2006, and it has since become a staple on Cedar Rapids’ west side.
The faith-based nonprofit now offers a variety of community-focused programs and runs the Cultivate Hope Corner Store community grocer at 604 Ellis Blvd. NW and Groundswell Cafe, a pay-it-forward cafe at 201 Third Ave. SW.
