School board elections are here again, and I encourage Linn-Mar voters to support a trio of candidates ready to serve our community with vision, collaboration, and care for our students’ future. The candidates who best embody that spirit are Evan Langston, Midhat Mansoor, and Laura Thomas.
Mansoor and Thomas are incumbents who were appointed to their current seats, and their thoughtful, analytical approach is clear to anyone watching board meetings. (It helps that one is a financial analyst and the other a data analyst.) Both bring professionalism, open-mindedness, and genuine concern for our community. They consistently ask the right questions, consider multiple perspectives, and work hard to build understanding and trust.
Langston is new to school board activity but already stands out. He worked his way up from dishwasher to head chef at a local retirement community and now works as an engineering project manager. His experience reflects determination and leadership — qualities we want shaping our schools. Not every student will take a college path, and his insight into workforce readiness will help ensure all graduates are prepared for success. He also brings a solid understanding of school board funding and legal frameworks, along with an eagerness to learn and collaborate.
If you want community-focused, team-oriented leadership guiding our schools, vote for the Linn-Mar Trio: Langston, Mansoor, and Thomas.
