As longtime Coralville residents, we’ve seen firsthand how thoughtful investment can shape a community’s future. Coralville’s vision for a new community recreation center, one that welcomes all ages and abilities, is a testament to that spirit. We’re excited about the possibilities for new programming, partnerships, and inclusive spaces that will serve generations to come. This initiative reflects the values we hold dear: accessibility, collaboration, and community pride.
We believe the local-option sales tax is a smart way to fund these improvements. It allows everyone who shops in Coralville — including visitors — to contribute to the betterment of our city. The proposed community recreation center will be a place where families gather, seniors stay active, and youth find opportunities to grow and thrive. Importantly, LOST does not apply to essentials like groceries, gas, or medicine.
We also want to recognize our neighbors in Iowa City and North Liberty, who are pursuing their own local-option sales tax measures to support vital infrastructure and services. These communities, like Coralville, understand the importance of investing in the future and equipping local decision-makers with the tools they need to help our residents.
Please join us in voting YES for Coralville’s local-option sales tax. Coralville is worth every penny, and together we can build something truly special.
