Beverly O. Armstrong, 97, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Terrace Glen Village in Marion, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. There will be no visitation. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Beverly was born on September 10, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Joseph and Verlyn Irol (Miller) Walker. She was a 1946 graduate of Marion High School and later attended Cornell College. On December 21, 1947, Beverly was united in marriage to William “Bill” Armstrong in Marion. Beverly was a buyer at Killian’s Department Store for 31 years and later worked as a purchasing agent for Guaranty Bank for 12 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marion, the Indian Creek Country Club, ABWA (American Businesswomen’s Association), and was in several bridge and canasta clubs. Beverly will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Beverly is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Gary (Pat) Armstrong of Storm Lake, Iowa; daughter, Rebecca (Daryl) Armstrong-Braun of Cedar Rapids; granddaughters, Terra (Matt) Braun-Heaton, Kristi (Matt) Braun-McEnany, Kari Braun-Benore all of Cedar Rapids, Anne (Ben) Armstrong-Daniels of North Liberty, Iowa, and Jane (Steve) Armstrong-Hockman of Denver, Colorado; grandson, John (Lindsay) Armstrong of Storm Lake; 15 great-grandchildren; and three nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Armstrong; parents, Joe and Irol Walker; and brother and sister-in-law, Sondoe and Sharon Walker.
