Minnesota (5-2, 3-1) at Iowa (5-2
Where to watch: Saturday, October 25, 2025 2:30 PM - Paramount+ (Subscription)
Line: Iowa (-8.5)
Mike Hlas (3-0, 19-5) — How to get the best of gophers: Insert a blast gas injector into their tunnels. Then, press a remote ignition button that triggers a spark to ignite the mixture of propane and oxygen and produce a shockwave that collapses the tunnels. Or, outscore them. Iowa 20, Minnesota 12
Madison Hricik (2-1, 17-7) — The best part of learning Iowa football history in this job has been getting to find out all about the trophy history for each game. It’s understandable why Floyd of Rosedale is such a big deal. Iowa 24, Minnesota 17
Jeff Johnson (1-2, 13-11) — If anyone is coming down from Minnesota and wants to bring me a case of Grain Belt Elite, I’ll pay for it. You can only get it up north, and, as it says, it’s elite beer. Iowa 24, Minnesota 13
Rob Gray (2-1, 17-7) — Hawkeye quarterback Mark Gronowski might not pass for a touchdown, but he will almost certainly use his legs to generate offense — and help his team grab the Floyd of Rosedale Trophy for the 10th time in the past 11 meetings with the Gophers. Iowa 20, Minnesota 14
Beth Malicki (3-0, 16-8) — I think it’s nice we all worked together to self-sabotage so Mike Hlas could feel smart in these Pick ’Ems. Iowa 24, Minnesota 20
K.J. Pilcher (2-1, 15-9) — The final scene will have Kirk Ferentz standing over Floyd of Rosedale in front of a cheering crowd, saying, “That’ll do pig. That’ll do.” IYKYK. Iowa 23, Minnesota 17
BYU (7-0, 4-0) at Iowa State (5-2, 2-2)
Where to watch: Saturday, October 25, 2025 2:30 PM - Fox Sports
Line: Iowa State (-2.5)
Hlas — Some crown jewels from Napoleon’s family have come into my possession. If no one claims them in the next 24 hours, they’re mine. Iowa State 27, BYU 26
Hricik — I feel like this is my redemption shot after not picking BYU last week, so here comes an 8-0 BYU team. BYU 21, Iowa State 20
Johnson — Gimme the Clones in this one. Just a hunch. Iowa State 24, BYU 17
Gray — ISU’s two-game losing streak has been marked by ill-timed mistakes, and I’m not convinced the Cyclones can eliminate those issues well enough to beat a highly-disciplined and unbeaten team that also lives — and thrives — “in the margins.” BYU 27, Iowa State 24
Malicki — Not to brag, but I finished Christmas shopping and have addressed 80 percent of my holiday cards. Actually, this is my form of bragging which itself is a little sad. Iowa State 31, BYU 27
Pilcher — I picked against BYU last week and that didn’t work out well. Fool me once, shame on BYU. Fool me twice, shame on me. BYU 30, Iowa State 21
Northwestern (5-2, 3-1) at Nebraksa (5-2, 2-2)
Where to watch: Saturday, October 25, 2025 11:00 AM - Fox Sports
Line: Nebraska (-7.5)
Hlas — Which do the fans of these two teams talk about when they meet, their cosmopolitan campuses or their cows? Nebraska 22, Northwestern 18
Hricik — Feels like the Cornhuskers are going to play some angry football against Northwestern after last week. Nebraska 28, Northwestern 20
Johnson — I couldn’t get into one of these schools when I was in high school. Didn’t want to get in the other. You can figure out which was which here. Nebraska 31, Northwestern 13
Gray — The Wildcats beat Purdue, 19-0, last week to record their first shutout win since 2017. They won’t replicate that feat today against the Huskers, who respond after last week’s blowout loss at Minnesota. Nebraska 21, Northwestern 10
Malicki — I got a spray tan for a wedding a few months back (as the officiant; no one wants a pasty internet marriage celebrant) and am now addicted. That cold bronzing mist makes me feel like I don’t have a Vitamin D deficiency. Nebraska 28, Northwestern 20
Pilcher — Northwestern’s three Big Ten wins are against teams with a 1-11 combined conference record. Goldie Hawn’s “Wildcats” have a better chance to win. Nebraska 27, Northwestern 20
