Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20th, at 11:00 AM at Salem United Church of Christ in Waukon with Pastor Sue Klimstra officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may greet the family from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Sunday at Martin - Grau Funeral Home in Waukon.
Marjorie was born on April 11th, 1924, to Walter and Emma (Kostman) Rolfs in rural Ludlow Township. Marjorie was baptized and graduated from one of the first classes of Waukon high school.
She was a woman of great faith. She regularly attended Sunday services and was a longstanding member of the Salem United Church of Christ; her faith was exemplified in her life.
Only second to her faith, her many grandchildren, great (and) great-great-grandchildren were her most-cherished blessings. She shared a close and loving bond with each one.
Majorie is survived by her siblings: Donald Rolfs, Irene Carney, Darlene Hudson, and Janet Kaufman, her children: Gary (Anne) White of Decorah, Kermit (Cathy) White of Postville, Daniel (Nooch) White of Postville, Judy (Steve) Houdek of Anamosa, 17 grandchildren, and an abundance of great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter in 1978, husband Emmett in 2021, her siblings Lloyd and Charles Rolfs, Gladys Hartson, and her children Richard and Karen White and Cheryl (Ted) McNally.
Above all, Marjorie cared deeply for her family and friends. She will be remembered always for her generous heart, her quick wit, her unforgettable laugh, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone blessed to know her.
