Craig Pippert, 73, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.
A visitation will be held from 4 until 6 PM Thursday, October 9, 2025 at the Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone. A Celebration of Craig’s Life will be held beginning 6 PM at the Keystone Turner Hall, also on Thursday. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery.
Craig was born December 3, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, to Paul and Elaine (Hennings) Pippert. He graduated from Benton Community High School with the class of 1970. Craig was married to Barb Markham from 1972 until 1974, when the couple divorced. Craig served his Country in the Army National Guard from 1970 until 1976. Craig worked in construction for much of his life. His last job was spent working at Pippert Hardware, where he enjoyed helping as well as visiting with the clientele.
Craig was a member of the Keystone Turners, and a past member of the Merkel-Bockholt American Legion Post #107 in Keystone. Craig was known for his sense of humor and dearly loved spending time with his friends and family.
Craig is survived by his brother Doug (Becky) Pippert of Keystone, 2 sisters, Teresa (Jim) Quass of Arcadia, IA, Lisa Pickering of Cedar Rapids, 6 nieces and nephews; and 11 great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Sheila, and brother-in-law, Darris Pickering.
