Robert N. Menary was born December 27, 1930, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of William and Helen (Johnson) Menary. He graduated from Williamsburg High School. Robert served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. Robert was united in marriage to Helen Armstrong on June 17, 1956, in Hansell, Iowa. He lived on the family farm his whole life. During his lifetime he has been employed by Leighton Jones doing custom farming, Winborn's Feed Mill, most of his life he worked as an electrician for Imhoff Electric, then Mayberry Electric. He also helped his brother Joe on the farm. Robert enjoyed fishing and everything outdoors. He especially loved fishing at Island Lake, Minnesota, starting in his teens with his dad, honeymooning with Helen, family vacations with kids and grandkids and celebrating Bob and Helen's 50th wedding anniversary. He died Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at his home at the age of 94 years.
He is survived by his three sons, Jeff (Renee) Menary of Grinnell, Greg (Julie) Menary of Carlisle and Dan (Janet) Menary of Williamsburg; five grandchildren, Jenny (Tom) Hartshorn, Ben (Sarah) Menary, Nick (Megan) Menary, Jessica (Jason) Parker and Colin Hazelton; six great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Eunice Menary of Williamsburg. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen and a brother, Joe Menary.
