Pearl Elizabeth Ballou, 75, of Maquoketa, formerly of Anamosa and Cedar Rapids, died on September 18, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
She was born to Isol and Stella Walker on October 21, 1949, in Clayton, New Mexico, and named after her grandmother. The eldest daughter, she grew up in a large farming family with four brothers and five sisters. She lived her life providing care and comfort to family and friends. She enjoyed playing card games, crafting, passing along recipes, sharing her humor, and serving as the center of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Monty, her daughters, Sandy and Jaime, her sisters Rita and Clora Ann, and her much adored grandchildren, Ethan, Stanley, Emily, Claire and Aidan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved siblings, Kay Cabral and Rex Walker.
At Peace Cremation Services have been provided by Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.
