Jacqueline J. Gasper, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2025, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Brosh Chapel. Burial will be in Czech National Cemetery.
Jacqueline was born on January 31, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Jerry and Frances (Drahos) Prasil. Jacqueline graduated from Roosevelt High school in 1953. She worked for Northwestern Bell and Killian's as a Switch Board Operator from 1953 until 1957, when her first son was born. On September 1, 1956, Jaqueline married Peter P. Gasper at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Jacqueline was a part of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Cedar Rapids Court 1768, she served as Regent, Under State District Deputy for four Courts, and was a member of the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library.
Jacqueline is survived by son Peter Gasper Jr. of Cedar Rapids; daughter Theresa Gasper of Marion; four grandchildren, Mitchell Gasper, Jeffrey Gasper, Emily (Keith) Brown and Lindsey Gasper; daughter-in-law, Beth Ahearn (William); five great-grandchildren, Lailah, Christian, Isabelle, Abel, Elliott; and a great-great-granddaughter, Kalayah; as well as her nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Peter; her parents Jerry and Francis Prasil; brother George "Bud" Lowe; and her son William Gasper.
