Vickie Lea Schoettmer, 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha with her loving family by her side.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.
Vickie was born on January 3, 1943, in Waterloo, to Leslie & Adeline (Mertes) Craft. She graduated from LaPorte City High School. Vickie worked as an inspector at Rockwell-Collins until her retirement.
Vickie enjoyed bowling and bowled in several leagues. Crocheting and solving puzzles were also favorite past times. She truly loved her 4-legged Frenchie, Georgia, who was her constant companion.
Vickie is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Tamara) Schoettmer of Cedar Rapids, Angela (Michael) Gardemann of Newhall, Shelley (Michael) Massell of Cedar Rapids, and Kelly (Todd) Anderson of Newhall; 8 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her brother, Dwight Craft of Urbana; and 4 sisters, Donna Schoettmer of Newton, Sharon (Don) Wirth of Ames, Toni Powers of Altoona, and Carol (Warren) Henkel of Garrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandson, Nicholas J. Haerther.
