Thomas “Tom” Edward Weber, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on September 14, 2025, at Harmony Care Center in Cedar Rapids after a long illness. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Rev. Douglas Loecke presiding. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Teahen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Tom is survived by his children, Tim (Tricia) Weber, Kevin (Tiffany) Weber, Tina Weber, and Aaron (Karen) Weber, all of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Ruth Reddersdorf of Kokomo, IN, Bonnie (Bruce) Potter of Waterloo, Vickie (Jim) Covington and Beckie Weber of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren, Blake, Reygan, Colby, Lilly, Hayden, Maxx, Dustin, Nevaeh, Natalie, Coleton, Maddie, Ryan, and Lindsey; 2 great-grandchildren, RJ and Romi; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel Weber; sister, Nancy and brother-in-law Fr. Mike Millard, brother-in-law, Ralph Reddersdorf and nephew Mark Reddersdorf.
Tom was born on May 17, 1949, in Dyersville, Iowa, the son of Edmund and Helen (Wieneke) Weber. He graduated from Beckman Catholic High School in 1967. Tom proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant and worked as an airplane mechanic. He later built a career in construction, operating his own business, Weber Flooring, in Cedar Rapids.
Tom was a man of many interests who loved fishing, hunting, painting, going out to eat, and striking up conversations with anyone. Known for his good humor and generosity, Tom was especially remembered at Harmony Care Center as the “candy man,” always sharing treats with staff and residents.
