Pretzelmaker announces closure at Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS — A stalwart of shopping center cuisine has announced plans to retire from Lindale Mall.
Pretzelmaker, a longtime member on the short list for iconic mall pretzel brands, will close its Lindale Mall location on Sept. 29, according to a recent announcement.
“We thank you all for always supporting our families for the past 18 years but it’s time for something new,” the owners said on Sept. 8.
Owners Lisa Vanderlind and Steve Blum encourage customers to visit their newer location at 1115 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE, which opened in July 2023.
The newer standalone location, near Cedar Rapids’ northeast Target, is pioneering one of the brand’s first drive-thru locations. Most of its locations, including others owned by Vanderlind and Blum, are at shopping malls.
