Larry Lee Funk, 87, of Vinton, Iowa, formerly of Walker, Iowa, died Friday, September 12, 2025. Visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point, Iowa. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Todd Hart officiating. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker, Iowa.
Larry was born on April 30, 1938, in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Howard and Ione (Willmot) Funk. He graduated from Walker High School. October 1, 1958, Larry married Donna Mae Rodman in Cedar Rapids. He farmed independently for many years and also worked as a groundskeeper at Mount Mercy College. Larry was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Cedar Rapids. He had a lifelong love for Oliver tractors, but above all, Larry cherished his family and especially his great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Steven (Irma) Funk of Vinton, Michael Funk of Helena, Arkansas, Kris (Greg) Hallberg, and Jeffrey (Monica) Funk, all of Vinton; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; aunt, Donna Peacock of Shellsburg, Iowa; his beloved dog, Buddy; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 65 years, Donna Mae Funk.
