Barbara “Barb” Elnora Windfield, 89, of Alburnett, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Hallmar Village in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point, Iowa with a visitation from 4 - 6 p.m. A combined inurnment for Loren and Barb will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Lafayette Cemetery in Alburnett, Iowa.
Barbara was born on April 16, 1936, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Lawrence and Bernice (Neal) Lomholt. She attended Orchard Schools. On January 11, 1966, Barb was united in marriage to Loren Clarence Windfield in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they farmed the land near Alburnett and made a home for their three children. A devoted farm wife, Barb embraced the hard work and dedication that came with rural life but also worked various jobs outside the home. She enjoyed the thrill of riding snowmobiles and going bowling and participated in several leagues. Barb also had a love for antiques and ceramics. Each year, she found joy in wintering in Texas. These sunny months became a welcomed escape, filled with new experiences and lasting friendships. She was a member of the Alburnett Historical Society, Alburnett Diamond Club, and CB Radio Club.
Most of all, she had a particular fondness for spending quality time with her family, whether hosting gatherings or simply enjoying the everyday joys of life, she valued the connections that family brought. Barb will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Barb is survived and lovingly remembered by her three children, Michael Windfield, Danny (Debbie) Windfield, and Lisa Stick; five grandchildren, Heather, Danica (Justin), Dylan (Brea), Codi (Jacob), and Kayla; eight great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Cooper, Wyatt, Blake, Letty, Henry, Evren, and Mia; and brother, Leroy Lomholt of Osage, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren Windfield; and two sisters, Lucille Lagerquist and Julia Rogers.
Memorials in Barb’s memory may be directed to Lisa Stick.
