The politics we are experiencing will change. We can do two things at the same time — protest the president’s policies and create a vision of what we want in a new government. My thoughts are with serving military personnel, veterans and their families.
The will to fund services for veterans can be demonstrated by providing an equal amount for veteran services and military weapons and equipment. Two equal U.S. budget line items. “We cannot afford it” will not be communicated in the same sentence as veterans.
A beginning list of services to spark conversation for expansion are below.
1. Safe, secure housing and food security for all veterans and their families.
2. Facilities for administration, medical, and mental health are within easy travel distance.
3. Applications, of one page, demonstrate easy access to services.
May we each create and write a vision of what we want in a new government.
