Here are some numbers to consider after nearly a decade of Republican rule in Iowa.
Our bright red state is now ranked ….
Worst in the country for economic growth.
Second worst for cancer rate.
Second worst for job creation.
Seventh worst for brain drain.
Water quality? Great, if you don’t mind drinking fertilizer.
What are the Republican politicians in Iowa doing to change these numbers? Nothing. Zip. But boy, are they working hard on important things like making sure you can’t sue the pesticide company that gives you cancer.
They are all over ending diversity, equality, and inclusion, because who can’t see the danger in trying to give people equal opportunities? Giving your tax dollars to private schools? Check. Removing books? Check. Allowing teens to work in dangerous conditions? Check. Chasing nonexistent voter fraud? Check.
Are these Republicans politicians, after being in control of our state for all these years, really solving the important problems we face?
Are they even trying?
