Travis ” Smurf” Rockwell, 50, died Wednesday August 20, 2025 at St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa has taken Travis and his family into their care. Surviving are his parents, Leon Gartland, Christine Becicka a half-sister, Ashley Gartland and a special aunt Shirley Adney.
Travis Dean Rockwell was born October 18, 1974, at Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Leon Gartland and Christine Stimpson. He received his early education in the Anamosa Schools and graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids with the Class of 1994. He had been employed at Hy-Vee, Dodak Construction and Reliable Auto Body. He liked to go looking for Antiques of all kinds, he like motorcycles and he especially loved his dogs, Dozer, Snickers and Turtle.
