Franklin Zeman, 87, of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025. Mass: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2025, with visitation 9:00-10:30 a.m., Saint Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Saint John’s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service, Cedar Rapids, is assisting the family.
Franklin was born on September 9, 1937, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Franklin and Thelma (Carly) Zeman. He was united in marriage to Loree (Biskup) Zeman.
Franklin served honorably in the United States Army and graduated from the University of Iowa. He was a true, avid Hawkeye fan. Franklin loved sports and coached all of his sons in basketball and baseball for over two decades.
Franklin volunteered at several local catholic churches throughout his life, as well as the catholic food bank in Mooresville, Indiana.
Franklin is survived by his children, Mike Zeman, Bob (Becky) Zeman, Drew (Gloria) Zeman, and Mark (Tracie) Zeman; grandchildren, Courtnee, Zachary, Canyon, Aidan, Andrew, and Chase; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Austin; and sister, Carolann (Dave) Wolf.
Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Loree, and sister, Vivian Seidel.
Memorials may be made to Saint Ludmila Catholic Church.
