Bonnie L. Mueller, age 76, of Iowa City, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 at her home.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. There will be a Celebration of Life at Hilltop Tavern following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society.
Born on December 11, 1948 in Iowa City, Bonnie was the daughter of James and Wanda (Warner) Rodgers. She grew up in Iowa City, attended Regina Catholic High School and graduated from City High School in 1966.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Bruce Mueller in the Chapel at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids on June 30, 1978. She worked as a Unit Clerk at Mercy Hospital for 32 years, retiring in 2010.
She enjoyed watching sports and following the Chicago Cubs and all Iowa Hawkeye sports. Bonnie liked to cook and bake in her earlier years. Family was most important to her and she loved spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren.
Bonnie’s family includes her husband, Bruce; children: Chad (Brenda) Rodgers of Cedar Rapids, Mollie Mueller (Ben Kriz) of Iowa City, and Seth Mueller of Iowa City; grandchildren: Olivia, Aaron, T.J., Samatha, and Holland; great-grandchildren: Cece and Ruby; sisters: Carole Lancaster of Des Moines, Ann (Doug) Campbell of Coralville, Barbara (Richard) Donohue of Cedar Rapids, and Cindy Schwartz of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Tom (Janet) Rodgers of Coralville; a sister-in-law, Joann Rodgers; special nieces, Sharon and Jill; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Patricia Hoffman; a brother, Terry Rodgers; and a brother-in-law, Grant Schwartz.
