WATERLOO — A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested in connection with a Waterloo shooting that injured two people.
Police arrested Brandon Latroy Fleetwood-Wright, 25, on Friday for intimidation with a weapon. He was released pending trial.
Authorities allege Fleetwood-Wright was involved in an argument with a woman in the Mission Circle apartments parking lot shortly before 3 a.m. on July 27.
He allegedly punched the woman in the face, and 35-year-old Antrell Marlin Robertson Jackson intervened and tried to break up the fight.
Fleetwood-Wright then drew a gun and fired three shots, striking Robertson in the chest, according to court records. One of the bullets grazed 19-year-old Sariyah Ashari Dorrece Campbell's leg, police said.
Some of the incident was recorded on video, records state.
Robertson was taken to University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center in Iowa City for treatment.
Court records indicate Fleetwood-Wright has a prior conviction for allegedly pointing a gun at a person in Cedar Rapids in August 2023.
