Communities across Iowa and beyond lost a bright light, a dear friend, and a cherished family member when John “Jack” Tullis, 75, of Iowa City, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, July 14, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, where he was surrounded lovingly by his family.
Jack is survived by his children, Brittany and Michael Tullis; his brothers, Robert and Randy Tullis; and his former spouse and forever family member, Marta Cole. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Bruce, Dennis, and Gary Tullis.
In lieu of flowers, his children ask that you consider making a donation to the Iowa Fish and Wildlife Trust Fund in Jack’s memory, which serves to support a strong continued future of outdoor recreation in Iowa.
A celebration of life will be held at the Park Lodge at Terry Trueblood Recreation Area in Iowa City on Saturday, September 20, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. All are welcome.
