Patricia Ann Lyon, 89, of rural Hale, Iowa, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Pat was born on July 13, 1936, in rural Hale to Charles and Helen (Willimack) Vacek. She was lovingly raised by her grandparents, George and Blanche Willimack. On November 28, 1959, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Lyon at the United Methodist Church in Oxford Junction. After Kenneth’s passing, Pat worked tirelessly on the family farm—raising and selling poultry, milking her cow, and caring for her two young children with strength and grace.
She later worked as a cook at Olin Community School for over 25 years, where she was known for her good cooking and kind heart. Pat loved to travel and had a passion for planting annual flowers each year. She enjoyed hunting mushrooms, walking in the timber, and collecting wishing wells. She especially treasured her morning coffee with friends and cherished visits with her extended family at reunions.
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Mona (Danny) Feuss of Wyoming and Richard (Susan) Lyon of Atalissa; four grandchildren: Derek (Annie) Feuss, Michelle (Mitch) Manternach, Justin (Amanda) Conklin, and Tyler (Terra) Lyon; four great-grandchildren: Deakon and Asher Feuss and Declan and Riddik Conklin; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, her brother Robert Vacek, and her grandparents who raised her, George and Blanche Willimack.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Dawson Funeral Services in Oxford Junction, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mayflower Cemetery in Oxford Junction.
