Alec John Meade, age 29, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in Marion.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Pastor Steven Rempfer officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., also at the church. A luncheon will follow the service. Interment will be be held at the Holbrook Cemetery near Parnell, following the luncheon. Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous or ARC of East Central Iowa.
Alec was born on January 19, 1996, in Cedar Rapids, to John and Carol (Zuber) Meade. Alec graduated from Benton Community High School with the Class of 2014.
Alec will be remembered for the joy he brought to everyone around him. He cherished spending time with his friends and staff at Options of Linn County and The Rescue group home, where his presence was always uplifting. Alec deeply loved his family and delighted in sharing jokes that brought smiles and laughter. His warmth, humor, and kind spirit touched many lives and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving parents, John and Carol; sister Katie Meade (Will Emory) of Milwaukee, WI; brother, Jack Meade and fiancé Abbi Austin of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
