Hannah Marie Johnson, age 24, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away at MercyOne Hospital in Waterloo, IA on Thursday, July 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Hannah has given the gift of organ donation through the Iowa Donor Network so she is able to help others.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11 AM at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with the Certified Celebrant, Cindy McKee officiating. Private inurnment to follow at the Cedar Memorial Park-Garden of the Cross.
Hannah was born on December 30, 2000, in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was the daughter of parents, Kai (Sherry) Johnson and Nicole (Dan) Kohout. Hannah loved listening to music and giving the nursing and school staff a hard time.
Those left to cherish Hannah’s memory are her parents, Kai (Sherry) Johnson and Nicole (Dan) Kohout; her siblings, Tyler (Hailey) Johnson Faye (Juniper) Stoker, and Emily Kohout; her grandparents, Timothy (Sheryl) Johnson, of Newell, IA, Valerie (David) Sutherland, of Florida; her great-grandmother, Pat Vanderwerf, of Waterloo; her aunts and uncles, Mary (Bob) Bainbridge, Nichole (John) Johnson, Becky (Danny) Johnson, all of Albert City, IA, Brent (Sam) Johnson, of Newell, IA, Elizabeth McKenna of Clovis, CA, and Annette (Brian) Pellmann, of Duncanville, PA; nephew, Bennett Johnson, and niece, Brecklynn Johnson, as well as many cousins. She was preceded by her uncle Josh Huseman, her great-grandfather, Larry Vanderwerf, and her grandmother, Patricia Turner.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Hannah's legacy by contributing to the Cedar Rapids Community Schools Foundation, providing essential communication tools for children like Hannah to thrive and interact with their community.
