Gerald Lee Kuhl, known affectionately as Gerry to his friends and loved ones, was a man who lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and service.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Iowa City with visitation from 1 PM to 2 PM, prior to the service. Committal services will be held later at Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, the Gerald Kuhl Memorial Fund has been established at MidWestOne Bank, 500 S. Clinton St., Iowa City, IA 52240
Gerry was born January 18, 1943, in Davenport, Iowa, to proud parents Vernon Kuhl and June Cotant.
On April 27, 1968, he married the love of his life, Marilu Wood.
Gerry's dedication to his community was unwavering. He served as a council member and mayor pro tempore of North Liberty, roles in which he found great fulfillment. His service extended to the board of Horizons, where he made lasting contributions to the well-being of others.
On Sunday, July 20, Gerry passed away in North Liberty, surrounded by his family. In death Gerry joins his beloved wife, Marilu. Gerry's memory will be cherished by his sons Matt and Dan, Dan's wife Amanda, his grandchildren, Daxton, Maeva, Audrey and Delia, his sisters. As we remember Gerald Lee Kuhl, we celebrate a life well-lived and a faith well-kept.
