Robert E. Albaugh, 77, of Mechanicsville passed away on June 30, 2025. As per his wishes he was cremated. Military Services at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, IA 11:00 am Saturday, July 26. Following the service a Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Memorial Building (102 N John Street).
Robert Edward Albaugh was born April 16, 1948 to Willard and Lucille (Cook) Albaugh of Mechanicsville. Bob graduated from Lincoln Stanwood/Mechanicsville High School class of 1966.
Bob served in the U.S. Army, deployed to Vietnam with the 591st Engineering Company and then with the 87th Engineer Battalion before his discharge. Following his discharge he married Nicki Dauber. They later divorced. He worked for Sheller Globe in Iowa City for 35 years. Bob was an active member of the Mechanicsville American Legion Post 0309.
Survivors include children; Casey (Ryan) Gade, Darick Albaugh, Stephanie Albaugh; three grandchildren; siblings; Janet Robinson, Patricia Albaugh, Tom Albaugh, and Jim (Cindy) Albaugh; brother-in-law Joe Loria; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Carol Anderson, John Albaugh, Nancy McAtee, Mary Joanne Loria.
In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Condolences may be sent to the Family of Bob Albaugh, 1069 Stone Mill Road, Tipton, IA 52772.
