Wendy L. Seyller, 70, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a former longtime resident of Algonquin, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Wendy was born on March 24, 1955, in Peoria, Ill., to the late Roger A. "Tony" and Patricia R. ( nee' Carpentier) Van Etten. Wendy was a fierce warrior of Huntington’s Disease and showed Continued strength in her short battle against late-stage cancer.
Wendy, a proud product of the Peoria, Ill., area, attended Limestone High School in 1973. Her professional journey was marked by dedication and excellence, with the majority of her career spent in various positions, including serving as an office manager. She was a valued 10-year employee of RCA Electronics and then employed by Control Link for 17 years, leaving a lasting impact in each role she undertook.
Wendy was not just a part of the community; she was an active contributor. She was a longtime member of the Carpentersville VFW 5915 Women's Auxiliary, where her dedication and passion left a lasting impact. She was also a life member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary, always ready to lend a helping hand and make a difference.
Wendy's most cherished roles were those of a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. Her kind and caring heart, along with her unshakable strength and commitment to bringing people together, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will continue to bring us comfort and joy.
Wendy is survived by her daughter, Brittany, and son-in-law, Matt McGraw; her sister, Karla (Stephen) Gutsch; her brother, Erick (Roberta) Van Etten; her brother-in-law, Roger Seyller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Wendy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 23 years, Phillip Seyller, on September 28, 2013, and siblings: Karen Dean, David Van Etten, and Tammy Jackson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 504 West Main St, West Dundee, Ill. Per her request, following her visitation, she will be cremated. Her inurnment will be on Wednesday, July 23, at 10:30 a.m. at River Valley Memorial Gardens in West Dundee.
