Rosemaree Iola (Tharp) Williams, age 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab in Vinton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 18, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Stephen Preus officiating. Private interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM, Friday, also at the church.
Rosemaree was born on November 13, 1929, in Vinton, the daughter of Harris (Buster) and Netha Tharp. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Vinton in 1948. On June 4, 1948, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Williams at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Kenneth and Rosemaree farmed in the Vinton area, retiring and moving to town in 1974. She was a faithful member at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rosemaree enjoyed summers fishing with Kenneth in Canada, and playing 500 with friends. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, whom she dearly loved.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Julie (Lee) Schwenker of Vinton, Lisa (Kerry) Voyles of Craig, CO; 3 grandchildren, Amber (Andrew) Osterkamp, Robbie (Jill) Schwenker, Emma Voyles; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Harrisetta Gibbs, and Bobette (Lyle) Reiss.
Rosemaree was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Kenneth; and her son, Ricky Lee Williams.
The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab for all their loving care, and St. Croix Hospice.
