IOWA CITY — Some Iowa students will be much closer to the action at Carver-Hawkeye Arena home games in 2025-26.
Iowa Athletics will install a courtside seating riser at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, with the seating being “primarily designated” for students, the athletic department announced Thursday in a press release.
The capacity of the added seating area will be more than 200, and it will be on the south baseline of the floor. (That is the side closest to the wrestling tunnel.)
“This platform will enhance the in-game atmosphere by bringing fans close to the court in addition to providing additional floor-level concession opportunities,” Iowa Athletics said in the press release.
Iowa Athletics said the addition of the riser will affect some men’s wrestling and women’s basketball season ticket holders, and the ticket office “will assist with relocations as needed during the renewal process.”
As Iowa constructs a new arena parking ramp east of Carver-Hawkeye Arena (impacting Lots 40 and 33), ADA parking will move to Lot 75 — the lot south of the arena. Lots 43W and 65, along with “other designated areas,” will still have free parking.
