CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man was charged last week with multiple counts of sexual abuse after police say he abused a girl when she was younger than 12 and again when she was 13.
Sabino Angeles Sanchez, 56, is charged with three counts of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of indecent contact with a child.
According to a criminal complaint, Angeles Sanchez had sexual contact with the girl between 2020 and 2021, when she was younger than 12, and again in April 2025, when she was 13. The child reported the abuse to a forensic interviewer with St. Luke’s Child Protection Center.
Angeles Sanchez was booked into the Linn County Jail on June 18 as a hold for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the sex abuse charges were filed against him on June 26. He had his initial appearance on the charges over the weekend and is being held on a cash-only $77,500 bond.
