Denise Elliott, 70, of Marion, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
Services: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Old St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, by Rev. Neil Manternach.
Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m.at Teahen Funeral Home, and on Tuesday at the church after 9:30 a.m.
Denise is survived by her husband, Bill Elliott; sons, Ryan Elliott and Brandon Elliott; daughter, Amy (Greg) Wilhelmi; two grandchildren, Elliott and Theo; five siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Diane Evans.
Denise was born on May 6, 1955, in Cedar Rapids to John D. Kucera and Mary (Zerbe) Kucera. On May 17, 1975, she married William J. Elliott in Cedar Rapids, and together they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Denise worked for many years as a medical transcriptionist at Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa.
Denise loved camping and traveling, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a helpful heart and a gift for making others feel special, never forgetting a birthday. Denise was known for her warm, welcoming presence and found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, particularly going out for breakfast.
Memorials may be directed to Catholic Worker House.
