Monica Moen, a generous and caring soul with a wonderful sense of humor and adventure, died Monday, June 23, 2025. Her untimely passing was peaceful.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Monica’s life is planned for a later date in Iowa City and in Carroll.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Englert Theatre, FilmScene, Friends of the Animal Center Foundation or the charity of your choice.
Monica was a graduate of Kuemper High School in Carroll and the University of Iowa, where she received her Juris Doctorate.
Monica was the big sister to her two sisters, Sylvia Hanks and Jennifer (Darwin) Brincks, both of Carroll, IA; her nieces and nephews: Morgan Hanks (Sean Buckley) of New Zealand, Joseph (Angie) Brincks of Carroll, IA, Alex (Emmie) Brincks of Omaha, and Rachel (Dakota) Werkmeister of Lake View, IA; great-nieces and -nephews, Asa, Esca, Olivia, Emery, Remington, Ellis, and Sloan; first cousins, Felicitas (Rolf) Gebhard of Germany, Heidi Leveroni of California, Gretchen Mayerhofer of Florida and Judy Schapman of Carroll and her former spouse, Marc Moen.
Monica was preceded in death by her parents.
Monica will be greatly missed by all those she touched.
