Fieldhouse finds new location in Iowa City

IOWA CITY — When Hazzard County announced plans to open a second location in Iowa City, another Ped Mall staple was displaced.
The popular “American Saloon” country-themed bar in downtown Cedar Rapids announced plans earlier this month for a second location on the Ped Mall, 118 S. Dubuque St., where it plans to open on Aug. 1.
The former tenant of that address, Fieldhouse Bar, closed without notice or explanation after being a staple of the Iowa City scene since 1975.
Now, their next move is clear.
In a June 18 announcement, the bar revealed its new location: 138 S. Clinton St.
A timeline for the opening of their new location, currently under construction, has not yet been announced.
