Terry James Rodgers, age 85, died Saturday, June 14, 2025 at his home in Cedar Falls.
He was born September 21, 1939, in Iowa City, the son of James and Wanda (Warner) Rodgers. He attended Iowa City Schools before serving in the U.S. Navy. Following his service, he completed his Associates of Arts from Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo. On June 8, 1976, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Meyer in Lisbon. Terry worked as Postmaster of the Cedar Falls Post Office retiring in 1998.
Terry is survived by his wife JoAnn of Cedar Falls; children Julie (Bruce) Rodgers-Shahan of Boone, David (Kate) Meyer of Ankeny, Keri (Buddy) Jones of Holland, Lori Bathke of Cedar Falls, and Kevin Rodgers of Cedar Falls; his grandchildren, Adam, Dillan, Christopher, Colin, Kyle, Mika, Daniel, Tyler, Brett, Ethan, Ashlyn, Keagan, Haidyn, Everly, Makenzie; siblings, Thomas (Janet) Rodgers of Coralville, Cynthia Schwartz of Cedar Rapids, Bonnie (Bruce) Mueller of Iowa City, Barbara (Dick) Donahue of Cedar Rapids, Carol Lancaster of Norwalk, and Ann (Doug) Campbell of Coralville.
He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Rodgers, and his sister, Patty.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday, June 20, 2025 at Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online guestbook at www.richardsonfuneralservice.com.
