On June 18, 1960, in Monticello, Iowa, Carol (Onken) and Lyle Ridenour said, “I do” and they must have really meant it, because 65 years, four daughters Roxane (Don) Starry, Renee (Trent) Pearson, Rhonda (Shane) Shaffer, and Raquel (Jim) Banys, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren later, they’re still going strong!

Both retired from Rockwell International, Carol and Lyle now enjoy life in Marion, Iowa, where they spend their time golfing, gardening and wondering how they ever survived raising four daughters.

Their secret to a long marriage? A good sense of humor, a lot of love, and the occasional “Yes, dear.”
