Glenn “Mike” Dighton, 79, of Vinton, IA, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at home surrounded by his loved ones after an almost yearlong battle with leukemia. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 15, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Blessed Hope Church, 1509 South M Ave., Vinton, IA.
Mike married Jacqueline Barnes in 1963. They later divorced. To this union 4 children were born. Mike married Rebecca Taber in 1998. To this union 4 children were born. Mike is survived by his wife Rebecca, his children Michael (Hope) Dighton, David (Amy) Dighton, Christine (Mark) Sheriff), Robert (Nicole) Dighton, Alexis Dighton, all of Cedar Rapids, Brandon and Aaron Dighton at home and Brianna Dighton of Wellman, IA; brothers, Steve (Sandy) Dighton of Cedar Rapids and Ronald (Cecilia) of Seward, AK; 11 grandchildren and one due in October, 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Mike had a fierce love for his family and would do anything for them. One of his favorite things was family gatherings.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Barbara Dighton; a brother Jeffrey Dighton; a sister Linda Dighton; and his grandparents.
