Alaina Mary Conrad and Carl John Thier, both of Marion, announce their engagement. Alaina is the daughter of Gary and Judith Conrad of Dubuque. Carl is the son of Victor and Jean Thier of Bernard.
Alaina graduated from Loras College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management. Carl graduated from American Institute of Business with an Associate's degree in Computer Science. Both are currently working at AEGON USA in Cedar Rapids.
The couple will exchange wedding vows on July 24, 2010, at St. Patrick's Church in Bernard, with a reception following at the Silver Eagle Event Center in East Dubuque, IL.
