Platinum Love: 75 years of Enduring Commitment

Dale and Rose Breon of Anamosa, IA, are celebrating a truly rare milestone: their 75th wedding anniversary. They exchanged vows on June 3, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boone, IA.

Their journey together began in Ames, where Dale was employed by J.C. Penney's. His career led them through moves to Tracey, MN, Cherokee, IA, and Sioux City, IA. During these early years and moves, Rose gave birth to their three eldest daughters: Michele, Renee, and Denise.

In 1964, after gaining valuable experience, Dale and Rose decided to embark on a new adventure, taking a chance on their own. Dale traveled to Anamosa, Iowa, and purchased Ament's Store, transforming it into Breon's Fashion’s. Rose was pregnant with their youngest daughter during this move, and Stacy was born in Cedar Rapids. Breon's Fashions quickly became a beloved staple in the community, cherished by many girls and women.

Their entrepreneurial spirit continued to flourish. In 1975, they expanded their business by opening another store in Monticello, followed by a third location in Cedar Rapids in 1987. After 37 years of working side-by-side, Dale and Rose retired and closed all their stores by 2001, both at the age of 73.

Dale and Rose have resided in their family home since 1976, where they raised their daughters and celebrated countless family functions. Today, at 97 years old, they continue to live there. They have been blessed with a large and loving family, including 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, totaling 39 descendants. Their greatest joy has been watching their grandchildren grow, attending numerous sporting events, plays, and concerts.

This Diamond Jubilee anniversary is a truly extraordinary occasion. Their enduring love serves as the unwavering foundation of their family, and their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are forever grateful for the incredible example they have set.
